Following pickup at your Quito hotel, board private transportation with an English speaking guide for the scenic 2-hour drive from Quito to the Bosque Protector Mindo-Nambillo, a more than 50,000 acre (20,000 hectare) protected cloud forest that's home to more than 350 species of birds including flamboyant toucan-barbets and golden-headed quetzals. 

Following an explanation of the local ecology from your guide, explore the area's lush vegetation and look for Mindo's famous wildlife and bird species including dozens of types of hummingbirds.
