Daily Diving Sharm The diversity on offer in Tiran brings divers back year after year – Gordon with it’s beautiful coral plateau and now coral encrusted barrels of tar dropped by a ship during rough seas; the canyon at Thomas; the dramatic walls of Woodhouse; and the spectacular corals and chance of seeing hammerhead sharks at Jackson.
The area of Laguna offers a high paced drift dive as well as a shallow lagoon dive with small pinnacles. At the corner of Laguna – but only in perfect conditions – the small coral encrusted wreck of the Kormoran can be dived.

Itinerary

The Straits of Tiran
Named after British cartographers Gordon, Thomas, Woodhouse and Jackson Reefs Daily Diving Sharmlay across the narrow passage (approx 13km wide) at the base of the Gulf of Aqaba. Nutrients from the gulf are forced through this bottleneck and ensure a spectacular reef system which is home to thousands of fish which in turn attract larger predators. In the summer months’ many divers are drawn to the outside of Jackson Reef in the hope of diving with the schools of hammerhead sharks which are in the deep blue waters.
