The day begins at 5am, when your private guide collects you from your hotel in Cairo or Giza for the air-conditioned journey to the Sahara Desert. (You might want to ask your hotel to prepare a breakfast box.)

Begin with a quad bike safari. After a short safety briefing and an explanation of the simple controls, don your helmet and goggles and follow your guide across the gently sloping sands in the pre-dawn light.
