Tallinn’s Old Town, a UNESCO world heritage site and is often referred to as the “Jewel of the Baltic.” The city offers architecture from Gothic to Baroque and Renaissance, from Art Deco to Soviet. Immerse yourself within a history rich in war and culture, intrigue and chivalry. 

It is our hope to share with you our knowledge of and enthusiasm for everyday life in medieval Tallinn, how the city functioned, who lived here and why did so many large nation such as Russia, Denmark, Sweden, Poland and the Teutonic Order fight over this small piece of land for centuries.

Stop At: Tallinn City Hall, Mere pst 20, Tallinn 10111 Estonia

Tallinn's Town Hall dates back to 1404 and is the oldest suriving town hall in all of Northern Europe and the only one with a true Gothic exterior and interior. Here we will explain the function of the city council and the autonomy of Lower Tallinn throughout the centuries.

Stop At: St Mary's Cathedral, Toom-Kooli 6, 10130 Tallinn, Estonia

St Mary's Cathedral (also knows as the Dome Church) stand on the location of one of the first ever churches built in Estonia (possible even THE oldest). A church has stood here since 1219. Learn about different religions in Estonia and why it was the last building in Tallinn to covert to Lutheran Christianity.

This Russian Orthodox cathedral was finished in 1900 and built during a trying time in Estonian history. Learn of it's heritage and what sets it apart from other buildings nearby.

This quaint garden located on the boarder between Upper and Lower Tallinn is a great location to learn about Danish heritage in Estonia and why the year 1219 is important for Estonians and Danes alike

Stop At: Patkuli Viewing Platform, Nunne 16, Tallinn 10133 Estonia

This is a wonderful little photo-stop where you can take breathtaking pictures of Tallinn's Lower Old Town from an elevated position as well as view of the Baltic sea and the surrounding area.
