Birdwatching tour Karavasta

This is a photography bird watching  tour focusing on two main bird species – the Dalmatian Pelican and the Flamingo. Guided by the expert of the area in this tour you will have the opportunity to walk through the national park ,swim in the Adriatic sea and eat local sea food .

 Karavasta Lagoon  is one of the true jewels of European birding and the core of a nature reserve that is a relatively unexplored wonderland of beauty and biological diversity. Plenty Dalmatian pelicans 7 % of the world populations , Greater Flamingos as they chose recently the lagoon to be their home , and other waterbirds, . Surrounded by forests and fantastic panoramic view from the forest of Lagoon  and Adriatic sea give it a characteristic atmosphere. The combination of wildfowl, flora and fauna, good weather for a large part of the year  make it ideal for birding and bird  watching swimming boat trip and photography.

Itinerary

We will start from in the morning with the transfer from your Location to Karavasta Lagoon

Meet our friend Ornithologist who works in the Park since many years – They born and live here so they know almost every detail about the lagoon

A short introduction of the area in their nice visitor center  and after that climb on the Lagoon Tower – 50 m high from where we can see all the lagoon

We will proceed with our bird watching to Godulla ( a small lake close to the visitor center )

After that a walking tour that will take us to the Birdwatching tower

See the birds with our specialist – See the island of Dalmatian Pelican and the flamingos

Walk  around the lagoon and enjoy the views

Free time if you would like to swim

Lunch in a small restaurant with local sea food
