Bordeaux Countryside Farm to Table Tour

As the countryside and many of it's farms are not easily reached without private transportation,this tour is a great way to see what the real French countryside is like. Small villages, old farms and traditional livelihoods come to life with beautiful landscapes, interesting history and heritage breeds of animals. Please note that we do our best to accommodate farm visit requests but cannot guarantee which exact farms will be available that day. This tour will happen rain or shine, so dress for the weather :)

Itinerary

Stop At: Bazas Cathedrale, Place de la Cathedrale, 33430 Bazas France

The other locations are too small to be listed, but include a Bazadais cattle farm and local restaurant in Bazas.

Duration: 3 hours

Stop At: Coopérative Palmagri, 8 Rue Partarrieu, 33124 Auros, France

We will visit a local fois gras farm and learn from the farmer how these ducks are raised, then head to the location where the birds are processed and changed into a large variety of products.

Duration: 1 hour

Stop At: Chateau de Roquetaillade, D223, 33210 Mazeres France

Next door is La Grange winery which makes a red and white wine but also owns a nearby vineyard making sweet whites. We will learn how they're made and have a tasting.

Stop At: Arcachon Bay, Arcachon Bay, Gironde, Nouvelle-Aquitaine

This is where the oyster shacks we will be visiting are located. We often take lunch in this area as well.

Duration: 2 hours

Stop At: Le Teich, Le Teich, Gironde, Nouvelle-Aquitaine

This is where we will visit a caviar farm and do tasting.

Stop At: Great Dune of Pilat, La Teste-de-Buch France
