Virgin Mary Metekhi church is located on the left bank of the river Mtkvari, on the cliff plateau , the first church on this place was probably built by Vakhtang Gorgasali symbolically resembling the church built on virgin Marys tomb in Gethsemane garden in Jerusalem. According to the legend the former catholicos Kirion transferred the body of the saint Shushanik to this church in 7th century.

In 2010 Rezo Gabriadze built a unique clock tower next to marionette theatre in Tbilisi old town. Every hour an angel comes out with a small hammer to ring the bell. There is a small puppet theatre inside the tower and twice a day at noon and at 7pm you can see a show The Circle of Life. Rezo decorated the tower with hundreds of tiles which he designed himself and the it instantly became a major architectural attraction of Tbilisi.

elatively newly constructed the Bridge of Peace is definitely the attraction one wouldnt want to miss in Tbilisi. It is a pedestrian glass and steel bridge in a bow-shaped design that sits over the Mtkvari (Kura) river in Georgian capital. It was officially opened in May 2010. The bridge was brought to Georgia from Italy in 200 unassembled components.

Kartvlis Deda (Mother of a Georgian) erroneously known as Kartlis Deda is a monument in Georgias capital Tbilisi, which has become a symbol of the city. The statue was erected on the top of Sololaki hill in 1958, the year Tbilisi celebrated its 1500th anniversary. Prominent Georgian sculptor Elguja Amashukeli designed the twenty-meter aluminium figure of a woman in Georgian national dress. She symbolizes the Georgian national character: in her left hand she holds a bowl of wine to greet those who come as friends, and in her right hand is a sword for those who come as enemies.

The Abanotubani is the name given to the district in the Old Town of Tbilisi where there is a whole street (Abanos kucha) of public bathhouses that use the sulphurous waters of the many hot springs in this area.

Tbilisis Old Town is one of the oldest parts of the city. The Old Town is part of the Tbilisi Historic District and contains a number of officially designated monuments, churches, cobbled streets and picturesque pastel colored wooden houses with open, carved balconies. The houses are mainly 19th century as much of the city was destroyed by the devastating Persian invasion of 1795. Much of the Old Town has been restored under a scheme introduced by the Tbilisi government in 2009. Called New Life for Old Tbilisi, the scheme is restoring and rehabilitating Tbilisis historical districts and neighborhoods.

This extraordinary flea market will keep you entertained for hours. There is a mesmerising assortment of antiques, jewellery and bric-a-brac on sale.
In the tough days of Perestroika and the early years of independence, the Dry Bridge is where hard-up citizens of Tbilisi would come to sell their possessions in order to make a little cash. For some people that is still the case today, though for others this is their main business. Everything is laid out on the ground, often carefully arranged on on sheets of material, other times it is a haphazard collection.
One person might be trying to sell you twenty-year-old batteries or an old toothbrush, while their neighbour will be touting antique amber and silver jewellery. If you want to buy anything remember to haggle. Prices may be inflated, especially for tourists.

Day 3: Gudauri Ski Resort || Kazbegi || Ananuri (Caucasus Mountain Range in Georgia)
Stop At: Jinvali Water Reservoir, 40 km to the North from Tbilisi, Tbilisi Georgia
Zhinvali water reservoir, also known as a lake is located on the Georgian Military Highway. Soviets constructed the dam in the 1980s. As Tbilisi was growing rapidly, there was a need of a new water supply. Government decided that the Aragvi Gorge rich with glacier water was the perfect spot.

Stop At: Ananuri, Ananuri, Mtskheta-Mtianeti Region
Ananuri Fortress is a 17th Century Architectural Ensemble which at the time was one of the strongest fortresses in Georgia. Fortress is located in a 70 km drive from Tbilisi, in the village with the same name Ananuri.
Location for the complex was chosen because of its strategical importance. This fortress belonged to the local rulers called Aragvistavi and was the main stronghold for the family.

Stop At: Russian Georgian Friendship Monument, Georgian Military Highway, Gudauri 383085 Georgia
Gudauri Friendship monument is located 120 KM from Tbilisi, on the Georgian Military Highway connecting to Russia. The government of Soviet Union built this monument in order to celebrate 200 years since the treaty of Georgievs signed in 1783.
This panorama is decorated with Soviet Style mosaics depicting Georgian and Russian heroes, farmers, fairy tales and communist symbols. The monument is very vivid and colorful, however the most important part of its beauty is its location.
Here you will have an opportunity to fly over the Caucasus Mountains with a professional pilot and a paragilide.

Stop At: Gergeti Trinity Church, Stepantsminda Georgia
This is the most anticipated stop of the Kazbegi Tour Gergeti Trinity Church.
Gergeti Church of the holy trinity is located in Mtskheta-Mtianeti Region, Kazbegi Municipality under the famous Mount Kazbegi. This monastery has recently become very well-known worldwide for its amazing views.
Trinity church stands at 1800 meters from sea level, overlooking the city of Stepantsminda also known as Kazbegi. Behind it is the great Kazbegi peak at 5047 meters from sea level.
We will visit the monastery with a 4WD as there is no other way of getting up to the monastery.

Day 4: Georgian Heritage Mtskheta, Gori & Uplistsikhe- cave city
Stop At: Jvari Church, Mtskheta Georgia
Jvari Monastery is one of the oldest churches in Georgia. History of this complex begins in the 4th century when Christianity became the main religion of Georgia.
Place where Jvari Monastery is located had been a place of worship of pagans. Idols stood tall overlooking the city of Mtskheta and remind everyone of their pagan believes.
This changed with the conversion to Christianity. King Mirian and Saint Nino destroyed pagan idols and erected a cross in their place. It quickly became the main place of worship not only for Georgians but also recently Christian northern Caucasian tribes.

Stop At: Svetitskhoveli Cathedral, Arsukidze, Mtskheta 383400 Georgia
Svetitskhoveli Cathedral is located in the former capital of Georgia(Iberia) Mtskheta. The building that stands here now is from the 11th century, however the history of this cathedral goes a lot further into the past.
The first church was built here in the 4th century when Georgia(Iberia) converted to Christianity. Well explore all the interesting parts of this cathedral and later walk through the streets where youll have an opportunity for souvenir shopping.

Stop At: Stalin Museum, 32 Stalin Avenue, Gori Georgia
Heres a very awkward piece of History Stalin Museum. Stalin or Ioseb Jugashvili to be more accurate, was born in a small town of Gori, Georgia.
He was born in a small district, in a family of a shoe-maker. In 1937 this district Soviets completely erased this district except of the tiny house were Stalin was born. A protective monument was built to protect his house. Next to it they built a huge museum.
The Stalin Museum is still functioning here today in the same exact form. With the only difference being the pitch of the museum guides. Now they can actually tell the real stories of Stalin and what it was like back in the USSR pun very much intended

Stop At: Uplistsiche Cave Town, Kvakhvreli 15 km Eastwards to Town Gori, Gori Georgia
The cave city of Uplistsikhe was founded between 6th and 4th Centuries BC by pagan tribes. Its located in 90 KM from Tbilisi, on the left bank of Mtkvari River.
Today, it has become a big attraction for travelers. Uplistsikhe is a full scale city carved into rock. Here youll find temples, churches, wineries, a pharmacy and even a theater! Its a must see location for history, nature and photo lovers!
Well explore the complex for about 1 hour to get a full understanding of what the life was like here 2000 years ago!
