Itinerary
Day 1: Tbilisi Ananuri Gergeti Gveleti Stepantsminda
Stop At: Stepantsminda, Stepantsminda, Mtskheta-Mtianeti Region
• 08:00 Breakfast
• After breakfast, we will continue our road towards Ananuri Complex, which is situated on the right bank of the Aragvi River, about 70 kms away from Tbilisi. The fortress consists of two fortifications joined by a crenellated curtain wall. The fortress is on the UNESCO Tentative list.
• Possible to arrange Zip- lining and Rafting on the river Aragvi. Rafting level 2.
• Lunch
• After Ananuri, we will stop near Gudauri at the Russia-Georgian Friendship Memorial. (There is an option to arrange Paragliding near Gudauri)
• We arrive in Stepantsminda (Kazbegi). Drive up to the Gergeti Church of Stepantsminda.
(Amazing Mountain views)
• After, we will have a short drive towards Gveleti Waterfall. We will hike to the waterfall that takes appx 40 minutes one way. The hike is of medium difficulty. (Hiking shoes recommended)
• Dinner and overnight at the hotel in Stepantsminda (Kazbegi)

Day 2: Stepantsminda Village Juta Truso Valley Stepantsminda
Stop At: Juta, Juta, Mtskheta-Mtianeti Region
• 08:00 Breakfast
• After breakfast, we will drive toward Juta, a very small but astonishingly beautiful cozy village. It has amazing views on Caucasus Mountains. (There is an option to arrange Horse riding in Juta it is very safe and horses are guided by owners. You will also have short instructions on horse riding.)
• Lunch at a café on top of the village with amazing views on surrounding mountains.
• After visiting Juta, we will drive to Trusso Valley.
• Visit the amazing Truso Valley. Truso valley is famous for its mineral waters, which makes ground crystalize and then we have a great landscape with travertines on a huge valley with Caucasus Mountains on the background. Have Picnic or coffee break in Truso Valley, enjoying views.
• After visiting Truso valley, we will drive back to Stepantsminda.
• Dinner and overnight at the hotel in Stepantsminda

Day 3: Stepantsminda Gori Uplistsikhe Borjomi
Stop At: Borjomi, Borjomi, Samtskhe-Javakheti Region

• After breakfast, we start driving towards Gori to visit Stalins museum (Stepantsminda Gori road is all asphalt. It takes appx 3 hours to reach Gori). Gori is an ancient city built on the Silk Road. It is a hometown to Joseph Stalin, the great dictator of Soviet Union. Museum consists of memorial house where Stalin was born, the exposition hall and Stalins personal Carriage. Museum also keeps Stalins private things such as handwritings, gifts from all around the world, paintings and so on.
• After museum we will continue our way to an ancient rock-cut town of Uplistsikhe. Uplistsikhe (literally Lords Fortress) is an abandoned rock-hewn town, which once have played an important role in Georgian history. The place was founded in the late Bronze Age, around 1000 BC, and continued to be inhabited until 13th century AD. Between the 6th century BC and the 11st century AD, Uplistsikhe was one of the most important political and religious centers of pre-Christian Kartli one of the predecessors of the Georgian state.
• Lunch (picnic or a restaurant)
• After lunch, we will start driving towards Borjomi. Borjomi is known for curative powers of the area's mineral springs. It is a frequent destination for people with health problems. Borjomi is also home to the most extensive ecologically-themed National park in the Caucasus.
• We enter Borjomi Historical Park and walk to the water springs inside the park. Everyone can taste cold and warm mineral springs of Borjomi for free.

Day 4: Borjomi Zekari Pass Sairme Tskaltubo
Stop At: Kutaisi, Kutaisi, Imereti Region
• 08:00 Breakfast
• We'll start driving up to the Zekari Pass accompanied by spectacular views. Stop at a 2300m above sea level for a coffee/tea break.
• There is an option to do a Zip-Line divided in two parts, a 500 meters long and a 300 meters long.
• After, we will start going down to the resort town of Sairme. Sairme I known for its mineral bubbling waters. We will have an opportunity to taste different mineral waters for free in Sairme resort.
• Have lunch.
• After we start driving to Kutaisi, the legislative capital of Georgia which is the third-largest city. Situated 221 kilometers west of Tbilisi, it is the capital of the western region of Imereti.
• (There is an option to take famous Sulphur baths in one of the local spa centers I highly recommend massage and underwater massage) Tskaltubo is a spa resort that was especially popular in the Soviet era, attracting around 125,000 visitors a year. Bathhouse #9 features a frieze of Stalin, and visitors can see the private pool where he bathed on his visits. Tskaltubo is known for warm mineral radiation waters up to 33-35 degrees Celsius. From the early 1940s, this resort was famous for its unique qualities of water in the Soviet Union that cater to a number of diseases.
• Dinner and overnight in a Hotel in Tskaltubo.

Day 5: Tskaltubo Martvili Canyon Mestia
Stop At: Mestia, Mestia, Upper Svaneti, Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti Region

• After breakfast, we drive for 1.5 hours to visit Martvili Canyon a unique natural environment, where you can take a short boat trip inside of the canyon and also walk down the bank of the river that flows here. Endemic plants and atmosphere of the canyon make this tour very interesting.
• After this, we will drive for 2 hours to get to Zugdidi. In Zugdidi we can visit the local market to feel the heartbeat of the city.
• Lunch in a restaurant in Zugdidi
• Continue our way to Mestia. (Zugdidi-Mestia road is all asphalt. It takes appx 3 hours to reach Mestia, the mountainous region of northern Caucasus). On our way, we will stop at Enguri Dam.
• Arrive in Mestia. The 'capital' of Upper Svaneti, Mestia is a conglomeration of at least 10 hamlets, dotted with picturesque Svan towers. The oldest of the hamlets, with most of the towers, are above the river on the northern side of town: Lekhtagi in the northwest, and Lanchvali and Lagami to the northeast. Recent government-sponsored tourism development has seen Mestia's central Seti square rebuilt.

Day 6: Mestia Chalaadi Glacier Hike Koruldi lakes Mestia
Stop At: Mestia, Mestia, Upper Svaneti, Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti Region

• After breakfast, we start driving towards Koruldi lakes. After 50 minutes, we arrive at the start point of hiking. The road to Koruldi lakes is medium-hard. It takes appx 1 hour one way from the starting point. Or we could also drive all the way up to the lakes. We will decide on the spot. It is Possible to arrange Paragliding at this point near the lakes down to Mestia. It is a very impressive and unforgettable experience.
• After the lakes, we will drive to the start point of a hike to the Chalaadi glacier. The hiking route takes appx 1.5-2 hours both ways. The landscape is mesmerizing, the air-refreshing, the hike-unforgettable.
• It is possible to arrange a cliff-climbing at this point with professional local alpinists and climbers.
• After this, have lunch in Mestia
• After lunch, we will visit famous local towers of Mestia and hear the history of the people of Svaneti.
• I suggest visiting the local Historical Museum of Mestia.

Day 7: Mestia Hatsvali Shkhara Glacier Ushguli
Stop At: Ushguli, Ushguli, Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti Region

• After hiking, we will drive to Hastvali ski resort. We will take the cable cars to get on the top. There we will have amazing views of the Caucasus Mountains.
• Rest and enjoy the views from the porch of Zuruldi restaurant
• After visiting Hatsvali, we will continue our way to Ushguli.
• Arrive in Ushguli. Ushguli is located at an altitude of 2,100 meters above sea level. Typical Svaneti defensive towers are found throughout the village. The Ushguli Chapel located on a hilltop near the village dates back to the 12th century. About 70 families (about 200 people) live in the area, enough to support a small school. The area is snow-covered for 6 months of the year, and often the road to Mestia is closed due to a high level of snow. Shkhara is a mountain peak in the background of Ushguli. In the central part of the Main Caucasus Range, it is the highest mountain peak in Georgia and the third highest peak in the whole Caucasus mountain range. The height of Shkhara is 5193.2m, measured in 2010.
• Possible to do hiking to the Shkhara Mountain Glacier, which is the highest mountain in Georgia. It is also possible to hire horses in Ushguli and do horse riding to the Glacier.
• Overnight in a guesthouse in Ushguli.

Day 8: Ushguli Prometheus Caves Kutaisi
Stop At: Kutaisi, Kutaisi, Imereti Region

• After breakfast, we start driving towards Tskaltubo from Ushguli. On the road, we will stop to see amazing scenes of the Caucasus Mountain range from Latpari Pass. On our way, we will stop in the villages to see the life of the locals.
• We will be driving through lower Svaneti and its Administrative center Lentekhi.
• Lunch in Lentekhi.
• Visit Prometheus Caves near Kutaisi, a unique natural masterpiece with stalagmites and stalactites counting thousands of years. Since the 1970s the caves have been used for "speleotherapy", in which the cool dust-free environment of local caves is said to benefit pulmonary diseases.
• Walk in the streets of Kutaisi.
• Dinner in a restaurant.
• Overnight in Kutaisi.

Day 9: Kutaisi Mtskheta Tbilisi

• After breakfast, we will start our road towards Mtskheta. 15 km north of Tbilisi. Mtskheta was the capital of the ancient eastern Georgian kingdom of Iberia from the 3rd century BC to the 5th century AD. It is of extraordinary importance to the Georgian people and listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site. It was here that Georgia adopted Christianity in 334 AD and it remains the headquarters of the Georgian Orthodox Church. There we will see Svetitskhoveli Cathedral, the amazing 11th-century work of architecture.
• Have lunch in a restaurant in Mtskheta
• After Mtsketa arrive in Tbilisi
