“Wine lovers” Day Trip In Kakheti With Lunch

Our journey starts at 9:00 AM via Gombori Pass. The highest point in Kakheti region. This is the best tour for your full day enjoyment mixed with the history and filling the knowledge of traditional wine-making. Also, trying out some Georgian cheese, sweets like Churchkhela (different type of nuts wrapped in grape juice with flower) and bread. Tour includes professional photo shooting.

Stop At: Chona's Marani, Bakhtrioni St, Telavi, Georgia

Visiting "Chona's" Winery, "Chona’s Marani" is the family winery, located in city Telavi, Kakheti. The family has a long tradition of producing natural wines that is transmitted by generations and is based on Kakhetian traditional technology, which implies producing wine in the Qvevri.

Wine is produced from the grape grown in family’s own vineyards. The vineyard is maintained according to bio-organic rules. Maintenance of the vineyard, grapes, wine making and bottling - is carried out by family members.

We will tasting of several types of wine with snacks.

Friends’ Cellar founded in 2009 is an endeavor of a group of friends from 11 differenct countries all around the world united by their love and appreciation of Georgian wine.

Cellar is built on the place of an ancient city NELKARISI. They has developed two brands: IKANO - combination of local traditions with international ones, using of Georgian grapes along with the international ones; and FRIENDS CELLAR - classic Georgian wines made in full compliance with the Georgian wine traditions.

The Vellino winery was established in 2015, to continue family’s involvement in wine-making and to promote Georgia’s 8,000 year winemaking tradition. The 26 year-old winemaker makes wines from Kakhetian grape varieties, utilizing his knowledge passed down by family and fellow winemakers.
