Alternatively and / or for the return trip, the rack railway can be taken. The glacier cable car between the mountain station of the rack railway and the summit can be used as often as you like.
From June to September - depending on snow conditions - you can borrow toboggan ("Zipfelbobs") for free in the restaurant 'Sonnalpin'.
There or in the highest beer garden in Germany or in one of the other numerous restaurants on the Zugspitze you can enjoy varied meals for every taste.
