Magical Christmas Markets Weekend Tour Berlin and Dresden
The Christmas season in Germany is absolutely magical. There is no better way to enjoy this time of the year than on an incredible adventure exploring the markets of Berlin and Dresden.
Itinerary
Day 1: Friday, December 6, 7-11pm - Traditional German Meal at Charlottenburg Palace Christmas Market
Stop At: Charlottenburg Palace, Spandauer Damm 20-24 Luisenplatz, 14059 Berlin Germany
Our dinner begins in the beautiful Charlottenburg Palace. According to European Best Destinations, "The Baroque Charlottenburg Palace is a magnificent backdrop for this Christmas market in West Berlin." An elaborate light installation bathes the market, the trees and the fence in a romantic light. The hub of the market is a pyramid in front of the main entrance to the palace.
Creating a festive atmosphere, offering not only a wide range of craftsmanship but also an impressive array of culinary options. In addition to the traditional Christmas market stalls with hot chestnuts, crepes or Hungarian lobsters, many hotels and restaurants from Berlin and Brandenburg offer fine cuisine in high-quality tents.
The winter forest in front of the small orangery offers magical attractions for children, including a nostalgic carousel, an air swing and a small railroad. In the fairytale tent of the Stiftung Stadtmuseum Berlin, the little ones can try their hand at handicrafts.
A visit to the Christmas Market in front of the Charlottenburg Palace can be wonderfully combined with a guided tour of the castle or a walk through the garden.

Day 2: Saturday, December 7, 10am - 10pm - The Christmas Markets of Berlin
Stop At: Kurfurstendamm (Kurfurstendam), Kurfurstendamm, Berlin Germany
The Kurfürstendamm is one of the most famous streets in Berlin. The street is named after the former Elector of Brandenburg. This very wide, long boulevard can be described as the Champs Elysées in Berlin - lined with shops, houses, hotels and restaurants. In particular, many fashion designers have their shops there, as well as several showrooms of automakers.

Stop At: Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church, Breitscheidplatz, 10789 Berlin Germany
The smell of gingerbread, warm fire tongs punch and roasted almonds belongs to Christmas time like Christmas tree, Advent wreath and the festive light on Kurfürstendamm. For the 36th time, AG City e. V. and the Showman Association Berlin e. V. to the Christmas market at the Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church.
The Protestant Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church is located in Berlin's district Charlottenburg am Breitscheidplatz between Kurfürstendamm, Tauentzienstraße and Budapester Straße.
World famous as a landmark of the West of Berlin, the ruined tower of the World War II Neo-Romanesque church, which is now a museum and monument to peace. Much of the ruin was demolished in the 1950s and completed between 1959 and 1961 by Egon Eiermann designed buildings including a new church.

The Christmas Market at the Gendarmenmarkt is considered the most beautiful and popular. Cozy and a bit of luxury between the German and French churches with their mighty towers.
There are many stalls selling food and drinks, exclusive crafts and, of course, Christmas decorations and souvenirs.
It can be cold in Berlin, so it's nice to be able to go. Outside there is a scene with various dance and music performances.
We want to participate in a small group tour through the French Friedrichstädt Church and the Gendarmenmarkt.

Stop At: Potsdamer Platz Tiegarten, 10785 Berlin Germany
The linden trees of Old Potsdamer street twinkle with lights, creating the unique atmosphere of the Winter World with its Christmas delights.
At the crafts market you can watch bakers, potters, felters or basket weavers work their skills to create wonderful hand-made christmas gifts. There is no shortage of culinary surprises for you - have fun exploring!
The Winter World on Potsdamer Platz includes ice skating rink and toboggan run.

Day 3: Sunday, December 8, 2019, 9 am-9pm - The 585th Dresdner Striezelmarkt
Stop At: Dresden Christmas Market, Altnarkt, 01067 Dresden, Saxony Germany
If you like Christmas, you will love Dresden. A total of eleven completely different christmas markets, by the means of a dark age to the après-ski charm of the alpine huts, make for wonderfully contradictory decisions.
We want to make our way from Berlin Central Station to Dresden at 9am. The 2 hour train ride will take us to Dresden city center shortly after 11am, where we will begin our walking tour of the Dresden city market. Once there, we have all the Christmas markets scattered around the city.
Vacation sounds fill the air in the city. In the numerous oratorios, Advent, organ and gospel concerts of the Dresden churches you will find festive insider tips.
Christmas fairy tales so come to life at the city's theaters, while museums feature special exhibitions and boats decorated with lights along the Elbe.
We will depart Dresden via train at 6:30 pm, arriving at Berlin's main station, where we will conclude our weekend of christmas adventures at 9pm.
