The Kunstkraftwerk is located in the west of Leipzig - a former industrial area, which today is a trendy creative scene district. After the decommissioning of the heating plant in 1992, it was acquired and renovated in 2012. The focus of the new use is on the presentation of immersive and digital art.

The spectacular "Immersive Art Shows" transport visitors to the renaissance with "LEONARDO DA VINCI - RAFFAEL - MICHELANGELO", transport them into the painter's world with "HUNDERTWASSER Experience", visualize the music of Bach in images, letting the charm and power of an industrial building with "WORK in Progress" or simply enchant with "Wonder Worlds of Alice".
This immersive art is a kind of art experiment that allows a wider audience to experience a new sensory experience. The observer no longer stands before the work or the stage, but the viewer stands in the center and becomes an integral part of the work.
Accompanying the immersive shows, the Kunstkraftwerk will be showing exhibitions of international artists with contemporary and medial art.
