During your tour of the city, you will visit the imposing cathedral, built majestically above Oppenheim (built 1220-1439). In addition to the Strasbourg Cathedral and the Cologne Cathedral, this cathedral is one of the most beautiful Gothic buildings on the Rhine. Particularly worth seeing is the famous "Oppenheimer Rose", which was designed according to the plan of a dogrose.
In the outer courtyard of the cathedral you will visit the Ossuary, where the remains of about 20,000 Oppenheim citizens from the years 1400 to 1750 and soldiers of the Thirty Years' War are laid out.
