Slave & Cultural Tour Accra

Ghana was at the centre of the heinous Trans-Atlantic slave trade that only ended in the last two century. Join us to explore remnants of the Slave Trade within Ghana's capital and also learn more about the culture of the Gas.

You will be picked up from your hotel at 09:00am in an air-condition private car for this tour.  Commence this 4 hour tour with a drive through some principal and historic streets of Accra. Arriving at Jamestown which is the origins of Accra, take a walking tour through several historic places and buildings connected to the slave trade of centuries past.

Sites of interest will include houses built by slave merchants as well as the two forts tied to this trade. This include the Ft. St. James and the Ussher Fort built by the English and Dutch respectively. Continue with the walk through the neighbourhood to interact with the people and observe them in their natural chores such as cooking, game competitions, playing soccer and boxing. This area is actually the breeding place for the best boxers from this side of the Atlantic. There are several boxing gyms and a giant boxing arena for this purpose.

Climb to the top of the English built lighthouse to catch a bird eye view of the buzzing city and immediate neighbourhood. End the tour at the Kwame Nkrumah park and the arts centre for craft shopping. After the tour you will be returned to your hotel.
