Athens Walking back in Time From the 19th century to Antiquity
We walk through Athens of the 19th Century, seeing the early monuments of the
city as a capital, touching upon the source of inspiration, namely, the classical
ancient period.
Some of the monuments that our walk passes by are: The world famous
Athenian Trilogy, Neobyzantine buildings, the Troy Mansion and the listed as a
landscape monument National Garden of Athens. The preserved original view
place, close to the 19th Century edge of the city, where the last wolf attack
occurred. The stadium where the first modern Olympic Games took place and
the hill that the flat stone pulpit, known as vema, where all the great
personalities of the Golden Age of Athens spoke, is still preserved.
This is a real Athenian walk, since the 19th Century to the antiquity, passing by
important landmarks and finishing at the hills opposite the Acropolis, the place
where it all began. A walk back in time!
