BMW Motorcycle Tour – Arcadia – Messene

Four day unguided motorcycle tour that will lead you to some of the most famous sites in Greece. We will meet and greet you in our head offices were you will get acquainted with your BMW rental motorbike. We will do a short briefing on the tour, the itinerary and then you will take off for the moto tour. All destinations and points of interest will be uploaded to the GPS that comes with the motorcycle.

Itinerary

Day 1: Athens to Lagkadia in Arcadia

Stop At: Agia Fotini Mantineias Church, Mantineia 220 05 Greece
A wonderful church with many different styles of architecture will be your stop. It is worth seeing and will allow you to relax and admire the Ancint Mantania near by
Duration: 30 minutes

Stop At: Kapsia Cave, Tripolis Pirgou, Kapsas 221 00 Greece
A wonderful cave system with lovely stalactites and stalagmites will be your next stop. It has few years that has been discovered. Relatively new it will surely offer plenty of relaxation
Duration: 1 hour

Stop At: Lagkadia, Lagkadia, Arkadia Region, Peloponnese
This ampithreatically built village will be your rest stop for the evening. It has traditional Arcadian archotecture and your hotel ensures perfect relaxation and wonderful cuisine. Walk the little alleys, enjoy your beverages and prepare to capture this beauty by as many photos as you can.

Day 2: Lagkadia round tour via Ancient Olympia

Stop At: Ancient Stagira, 40. 589551, 23. 792030 Eparchiaki Odos Ierisou-Stavrou, Olympiada 570 14 Greece
You will enjoy a trully spectacular motorcycle ride starting from Lagkadia to the famous Ancient Olympia. You will witness the stadium, the museum and feel what it meant to participate in the ancient olympic games. The honor of participating let alone winning was a massive thing in ancient time. The route is trully spectacula, mountainous yet tranquil and the villages you will pass by are trully stunning i.e Andritsaina and Karitaina

Stop At: Limni Ladona, Mouria 250 04 Greece
This wonderful lake will be the setting as you return to your hotel. Spectacula motorcycle route, old bridges and provincial roads amke this a wonderful relaxing experience

Day 3: Lagkadia to Kalamata via Ancient Messene

Stop At: Ancient Messini, Messini 240 02 Greece
The remains of this tremendous ancient city are complete with a grand ancient stadium, an Ancient Agora, an ancient theatre with a capacity of up to ten thousand spectators, and a fountain house. It is so well-maintained that you can easily envision the city in all of its glory. There is also a museum located directly next to the archeological site, which is home to the thousands of findings uncovered by archaeologists. The Ancient Museum of Messene is fascinating to visit after exploring the site. With an extensive catalog of artifacts, you will be able to color in the image of the city you have created in your mind’s eye with artwork and sculptures.

Stop At: Methoni Castle, Methoni, Pylos-Nestor Τ.Κ 240 06 Greece
Built by the Venetians in the early 13th century on a rocky promontory, the castle is among the largest ones in the Mediterranean. You’ll be astonished at the bridge stone of 14 arches which connects the castle to the shore instead of the timber one that used to stand in its place before the Venetians ever got there. The celebrated symbol of Venice, the lion of St Marc, dominates the gate of the castle where immured reliefs, emblems, blazons, inscriptions, the huge gates –especially the main gate, above the moat – and the relics of two Ottoman bathhouses have survived.

Day 4: Kalamata to Athens

Stop At: Kalamata, Kalamata, Messenia Region, Peloponnese
The natural beauty of Messinia with the indented shores, sandy beaches, forested mountains and fertile valleys, coexists with significant archaeological monuments. Kalamata, the capital and central port of Messinia, is situated at the site of ancient Farai. Following independence from the Turks and thanks to the exploitation of the fertile Messinian lands (producing olive oil, raisins, figs etc), it developed into a wealthy urban centre and a significant port
