Itinerary

We walk on the beautiful fishing village "Porto Koufo", which is surrounded by a range of hills. Through this range of hills, the sea is very calm and it almost looks like a big lake. Porto Koufo is very protected by its special location. The small fishing village has about 20 inhabitants. There are small taverns, inviting cafes and beautiful beach sections for swimming. The village, with its beautiful harbor, is the ideal place to relax after a hike.
Porto Koufo is referred to by the ancients as "Deaf Harbor". They think that everyone in the bay of Porto Koufo can not hear the noise from the sea. The view from the top of the harbor is breathtaking. Huge rocks that rise above a bay that looks like a lake, as the small opening to the sea are almost invisible. Along the coast there are caves, some of which can be entered by boat.

German submarines were stationed here during the Second World War because of the bottomless depth of the harbor, but also because of its geographical location, which provides direct access to the Aegean Sea.
