Your first stop is Lake Marathon, of immense natural beauty. You can have a coffee or a snack at the cafe (own expense) and stroll leisurely toward Marathon Dam the world’s only marble dam.

Second stop the Museum which houses findings from the Battle of Marathon and the Egyptian temple. Then visit the tomb of Plateis who fought with the Athenians at the historic battle.
Third stop the Tomb of the Athenians, the burial mound which is the final resting place of 192 soldiers who died in the Battle of Marathon. Final stop lunch at a Greek tavern, with traditional delicacies.

Stop At: Marathon Lake, Marathon Greece

The Marathon Lake in Athens Greece and the only marble Dam of the world. The Marathon Lake is an artificial lake at a distance of about 45 km from the center of Athens. This lake actually worked as a water reservoir for the town of Athens. The dam is found about 10 min drive from the location of the Marathon Battle and was built with high-quality white Pantelic marble, the same that was used in the Parthenon. At the base of the dam, the workers built a replica of the Athenian Treasury Temple in Delphi.
