Private Panoramic City Tour of Athens

This private half-day tour will cover most of the highlights of Athens and give you a great overview of this ancient city. Tour includes visits to the city center and Panathinaiko Stadium for a photo stop, along with a guided tour of Acropolis and its museum.

After a pick up from your hotel about 8am, you will start with a photo stop at Panathinaiko Stadium where the first Olympic Games took place in 1896. It is the only stadium built out of white marble.

Continuing on, you will pass by Zappeion Hall and the Temple of Zeus. You will then see the Athens Trilogy, which includes the University of Athens, the Academy of Athens and the National Library.

Your tour will take you by the National Garden, Hadrian’s Arc, St. Paul’s Church, Parliament, the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, Catholic Cathedral, Old Parliament, Constitution Square, Russian Orthodox Church, and finally the Acropolis.

Take a pleasant short walk with your guide, passing by Herodion and Dionysos Theater, in order to visit the Acropolis Museum. Some of the main attractions are artifacts of every day life, Caryatids (draped female figures) and of course the Parthenon hall with its metopes, pediments and friezes which will impress you. Return back around 1:45pm.
