Sunset trek to Prophet Elias chapel

According to the ceremony, on 19 and 20 July, celebrating the memory of Prophet Elijah, the faithful ascend the mountain of Hymettus from an alley that leads to the particular chapel in order to light a candle and honor it. Indeed, in those days the mountain is illuminated by lights that light up especially for these two days.

Together we will follow the same route in a relaxed and full in energy atmosphere!!

Itinerary

Pick up from Elliniko metro station with own car. Short drive to starting point ~15min

Sunset trek at the south of Immitos mountain with open view to the Saronic gulf. We will follow a rocky path signed with red crosses known only to locals. Observe characteristic red rocks of Immitos surrounding by small trees and bushes ~45m uphill

Stop at Prophet Elias tiny chapel with,as many people confess, the best sunset in town. Watch the moment the sun sets all around you and Athens turns into a spectacular night vista of sparkling lights. Use your camera or phone to take photos !!

As night descends, Athens magically lights up and we can create night portraits, time lapse photos and hike down with flashlights surrounded by 360° city lights!
