Live for one day the life of an authentic shepherd, discussing the daily habits and taste his homemade raki and mezedes. Learn the specific procedure of Cretan beekeeping interactively by providing special uniforms and trying honey straight from the honeycomb. Feel the hospitality of Mr. Andreas, but also his wife Ms. Eleni by cooking a traditional Cretan homemade meal for you. On the way to Apladiana, you will pass through orange trees, so you can cut an orange with your bare hand and enjoy its freshness! You will explore a real Cretan village and the guide will convey to you the mentality of a traditional wedding as well as the special process. All the villagers' wives are gathering to the square cooking with their own pots and pans the wedding dinner for the guests.

Stop At: Monastery of the Holy Cross Vosakos, 50 kilometers East of the Town of Rethymnon, Rethymnon, Crete Greece

After 1 hour drive we will visit a historically important Cretan monastery. In a lush landscape, full of beautiful flowers, it impresses before anyone even goes inside. Get to know the last nun of the monastery who welcomes you by offering a traditional treat "loukoumi". Admire the sophisticated and imposing architecture through its tumultuous history.

Stop At: Mylopotamos, Milopotamos 370 12, Greece

Αt the entrance of the pasture land, it is created an impressive gate that is raised by three trees and introduces you to nature. Live for a day the life of a genuine Cretan shepherd. Learn about the daily routine, the daily habits of the shepherd, the milk production process and the care of the sheep while you are trying the home-made raki and some ordinary Cretan appetizers such as gruyere and olives that every home has.

Next stop and according to the period we will visit an apiary in spectacular scenery where all the flowers are blooming and burst all the refreshing aromas. We will be able to wear special uniforms and watch the procedure of extracting the honey. Find out all the secrets of Cretan beekeeping as well as the importance of herbs and flowers in the production of genuine thyme honey.
Funny tip: Don't forget to remove the upper part of the outfit on the head before you put your hand on the honeycomb to taste the honey!

An integral part of the Cretan tradition is the warm hospitality of the locals. Mr. Andreas and Mrs. Helen are opening their home for you. They welcome you with a glass of raki and Mrs. Helen has cooked a traditional meal especially for you. Enjoy!

Stop At: Apladiana 740 54, Greece

After lunch you will be guided to one of the oldest and traditional villages, Apladiana, that still adhere to customs. On your way, you will pass through orange trees and if you wish you can cut a fresh juicy orange with your bare hands and eat it. Once you reach the village square, the guide will explain to you where and how the traditional weddings take place. All the women of the village bring their pots and pans and cook on the fire. On the other side, the musicians sit with the instruments to accompany the wedding feast with their songs.
