The Three Villages Walk by Art and Walk

You meet your guide at the bus-station and the bus takes you and the other guests up to Othos, the highest village of Karpathos at 510m above sea level. From there you walk to the green vineyard area of Stes all the way to the village of Piles. From Piles you go back to Pigadia with the bus after a quick break at a local coffee-shop.

Itinerary

Meet your guide at the bus-station of Pigadia early in the morning at 06:45am. We start at this hour to avoid the summer-heat and take the bus up to Othos at 07:00am. After a bus ride of 20 minutes we reach the highest located village of Karpathos where we start our Three Villages walk.

From Othos you walk up to a magnificent view point where you get to look out over the Aegean sea, but first we visit a little wood workshop. We cross from the East coast over to the West coast and reach the green vineyard area of Kallenes and Stes while spotting Kasos in the distance. After a tea break and seeing many little chapels we keep on walking and reach the mountain village of Pyles.

In Pyles one of the local coffeeshops will open for us where we can enjoy a beverage (not included) before taking the bus back to Pigadia.

Once leaving Pyles you will find yourself back in Pigadia around 1:00pm.

The walk itself takes about 3,5 hours with a regular walking pace. It is a relaxed walk.
Prepare for a bit of wind and beautiful landscapes.
