The Acatenango Volcano hike is a absolute must do in your Central America travel. It is a two day tour that departs at 9:00am and returns between 11:00am-11:30am depending on the pace of the group. Our minimum to make the tour run is 3 people. The trek is a 4-5 hour climb to basecamp  which over looks at the active Volcan de Fuego from 1km away where you might see an exceptional show of lava eruptions. From basecamp it would take an extra 1.5 hours to summit. It is a challenging and demanding hike, but it’s doable with the right preparation. We aim to be able to summit if the weather allows it, by sunset. If this isn’t possible we will try for sunrise; which is also possible to see from the basecamp in case you don’t want to summit. 

WE PROVIDE QUALITY GEAR, GUIDES AND BASECAMP. As well as safety gear for the active volcano tour. You don't carry any of the camping gear, only food water and personal belongings. 

Itinerary

Day 1: Antigua to Acatenango La Soledad Village

Pass By: Acatenango Volcano, Volcan Acatenango Chimaltenango Sacatepequez, Antigua 03001 Guatemala
1 hour Shuttle to acatenango from Antigua

Meals included:
• Lunch: Sandwich and chips plus a snack bag for the trail
• Dinner: Pasta with tomatoe sauce, parmesan cheese and red wine
• Breakfast: 1 st day Pancakes with fruit, avocado and bread with coffee or tea.

2nd day Oatmeal ready with coffee

Day 2: Acatenango BaseCamp

Stop At: Acatenango Volcano, Volcan Acatenango Chimaltenango Sacatepequez, Antigua 03001 Guatemala
We hike to basecamp on the first day after 4 hours of trek.
Duration: 14 hours
