Free and Easy Sanjiang Weekend By Bullet Train

Sanjiang is a remote county in the northwestern part of Guangxi Zhuang Ethnic Minority Autonomous Region. This area is known for its beautiful Wind and Rain Bridges, rice paddies and enhanced culture of local ethics.  From Hong Kong, transfer to Shenzhen North Railway Station by private coach or shuttle bus. Then take bullet train to explore mysterious China.

Day 1 Hong Kong to Shenzhen (By coach) to Sanjiang (By Bullet Train)

Transfer to Shenzhen North Railway Station. Take 4-hour bullet train to Sanjiang. You need to change a train at Guangzhou South Railway Station. 
- IMPORTANT NOTICE - 

(1) Deluxe option: hotel pickup in Hong Kong and transfer by a private vehicle.  Economy option: Take a shuttle bus from Mong Kok, Tsim Sha Tsui, Causeway Bay, North Point, Sheung Wan or Wan Chai

(2) Hotel room with breakfast has been reserved in advance.  Tonight you will stay overnight in Chengyang village. 

(3) Return bullet train ticket and shuttle bus ticket from Shenzhen North Railway Station has been reserved.

(4) No tour guide and transfer service will be arranged when you arrive in Sanjiang. 

Free time in Sanjiang.  Recommended activities are:

Chengyang is a village 20 km north of Sanjiang, is becoming a popular tourist destination with backpackers. It is a region traditionally inhabited by the Dong people. There are 8 villages scattering in rice paddies and rivers. The rice paddies and the beautiful village scenery will feast your eyes with a pure country life style. 

Day 2 Chengyang village

Free time in Sanjiang. There are 8 villages scattering along Linxi river: MaAn Village, Ping Village, Yan Village, PingTan village, Dong Village, ChengYangDa Village, PingPu Village and Jichang Village. All villages are in walking distance.

MaAn Village

A singing and dacing hosted by local villagers will be opened at 10:00 - 11:00. All cast memebers are from the village. The theatre is near the drum tower, which is a place for locals to relax after a whole day work. You will have chance to see lots of local activities here.

Ping Village

The largest Dong villages in the region, with more than 300 households and a population of 2000. The Flower Bridges in Ping Village are covered with pavilions, they are the most beautiful ones in this area. 

Waterwheels along Linxi River

Rice planting is important in Chengyang. Since ancient times, Dong people built huge wooden waterwheels to pump water from the river for irrigation. Different activities can be seen in Spring, Sumer and Autumn time.

Day 3 Sanjiang to Hong Kong 

Feel free to explore Sanjiang countryside.  Take 4 hours train to Shenzhen.  When you arrive at Shenzhen bullet train station, you will take shuttle bus to Hong Kong.  Bus runs every half hour from 07:30 to 19:00.  Please tell your preferred destination upon reservation:  Mong Kok, Tsim Sha Tsui, Causeway Bay, North Point, Sheung Wan or Wan Chai.  E-ticket will be sent to you in advance.
