Hong Kong Aberdeen 1773: Audio Guided Boat Tour & Visit a Houseboat in Aberdeen

On this journey, you’ll be taken to explore the floating community by a boat. Choose your preferred time and our vessels will first take you on a boat tour, while listening to the expert commentary from a knowledgeable audio guide to learn about the landmarks that embody each era of the Harbour.

(*The boat tour takes around 30 minutes)

After the boat ride, set foot on The Aberdeen Houseboat, a previously fishermen home which has been turned into a fishermen heritage exhibit. You can see for yourself what it’s like to live on water on our very own houseboat, designed to give you the most authentic experience.

(*The houseboat stay takes around 20-25 minutes)

Complimentary local drinks and snacks will be provided.

Lunch (boat noodles) will also be provided in 11am session, served around 12nn, prepared by a very special mobile noodles boat that has a simple kitchen on its own boat. There’re only two noodles boat left in Aberdeen district due to the discontinue issuance of license.

Pass By: Hung Shing Temple, Hung Shing Street, Ap Lei Chau, Hong Kong China

Our journey starts at Ap Lei Chau Hung Shing Temple, a protected heritage landmark where fishermen have prayed for safety and good weather since 1773. We will bring you back to this point after the tour is finished.

Stop At: Aberdeen Fishing Village, Aberdeen, Hong Kong China

Transportation: Traditional Sampan / Classic Chinese Yacht

We will be touring the Aberdeen harbour in our flat-bottomed wooden boat which is called "Sampan" in Asia - Sampan is the most common form of water transport in the old days.

Our custom designed sampans and classic Chinese yacht resembles some of Hong Kong 70-80’s style characteristic.

The audio-guided boat tour passes 13 landmarks in Ap Lei Chau and Aberdeen, such as: Aberdeen Wholesale Fish market, Ap Lei Chau Wind Tower Park, Ap Lei Chau Shipyard, Jumbo Floating Restaurant, FLOAT (custom-made event boat) & Ocean Park etc.

Pay attention to the surroundings, you can absolutely take some truly Instagram-worthy travel photos.

Set foot on the Aberdeen houseboat, a previously fishermen home which has been turned into a fishermen heritage exhibit. Many vintage photographs, ceramics, fishing tools and nets are displayed.

We will provide local drinks and snacks as refreshments.

Experience the life of fishermen and get back in touch with the roots of Hong Kong in the houseboat!
