Discover Romania’s Transylvania and Bucovina regions on a tour from Budapest that spans six full days of sightseeing. Itinerary

Day 1: Budapest – Arad- Timisoara

Stop At: Liberty Bridge (Szabadsag hid), Vamhaz Korut, Budapest Hungary
On your first day meet with your guide and set out for Romania. You'll cross the border at Arad.

Stop At: Filarmonica Arad, Piata George Enescu, nr. 1, Arad 310125 Romania
On your first day meet with your guide and set out for Romania. The first stop will be in Arad for a short walking tour. Arad is one of the Transylvanian towns with rich culture, that can be observed through it’s architecture. Stroll the city streets to see City Hall Palace , the Palace of Culture , the neo-gothic and secessionist-style Red Church, the large domed Roman Catholic Church and the neo-classical State Theatre. If time allows it you can have lunch at one of the local restaurants.

Stop At: Timisoara Historical Center, Timisoara 300003 Romania
In the afternoon reach Timisoara. This bustling city has been awarded European Capital of Culture 2019 due to it’s architecture that shows Turkish influence and massive Austro-Hungarian influence.

Stroll the city center for a short walking tour as your guide will introduce you in the local culture.

Day 2: Timisoara – Corvin Castle – Alba iulia – Sibiu

Stop At: Castelul Corvinilor, Strada Castelului 1-3, Hunedoara 331141 Romania
Start fresh in the morning after breakfast with your guide and head for your first stop at Corvin Castle. Explore this gothic castle to find it’s history that lays in the walls of this place.

Stop At: Citadel of Alba Iulia, Calea Motilor, nr. 5A, Alba Iulia 510134 Romania
After Corvin castle head for Alba-Iulia city. Alba-Iulia has an important cultural role in modern Romania as this is the place where the ancient and medieval history can be observed and also for the fact that this is where our country signed the unification treaty in 1918. Stroll the Old Town section to explore the history of this city.

Stop At: Sibiu Travel, Sibiu 550320 Romania
In the afternoon reach Sibiu, where you will be having a walking tour in the Old Town of Sibiu. Sibiu is a medium size city but with rich history and it was appointed the European Capital of Culture in 2007.

Day 3: Sibiu – Sighisoara – Gura Humorului

Stop At: Sighisoara Historic Center, Piata Cetatii Nr.1 Center of Sighisoara, Sighisoara 545400 Romania
Set out in the morning for Sighisoara city where Dracula was born and overnight. Take a walking tour inside the old walls of this fairy tale town to find out the history of Dracula and Sighisoara, one of the emblematic city for Transylvanian culture.

After lunch head for Gura Humorului, in Bucovina region where you will be accommodated.

Day 4: Gura Humorului – Voronet Monastery – Sucevita Monastery – Moldovita Monastery – Pottery of Marginea- Gura Humorului

After breakfast head for Voronet Monastery. Our guide will present the outside wall of the monastery
Duration: 45 minutes

Stop At: Moldovita Monastery, Vatra Moldovitei 727595 Romania
Next stop will be at Moldovita Monastery where you will have the chance of exploring another vibrating old painted monastery
Duration: 30 minutes

Stop At: Sucevita Monastery, Dn17a 169, Sucevita 727510 Romania
Head for Sucevita monastery another fortified monastery. This emblematic monastery preserves history of Bucovina region.
Duration: 45 minutes

Stop At: Marginea Ceramics, Nearby Suceava Plateau and Bucovina's Obcini Marginea Village, Suceava Romania
. End up your day at the Black Pottery of Marginea.
Duration: 30 minutes

Day 5: Gura Humorului – Bicaz Gorge – Red Lake – Brasov

Start fresh in the morning after breakfast and travel towards Bicaz Gorge. This magnificent Gorge passes from Moldova region back to Transylvania region.

Stop at the Red Lake for a lunch break and then continue towards Brasov
Duration: 1 hour

Stop At: Brasov Historical Center, Piazza Sfatului, Brasov Romania
Reach Brasov in the afternoon where you will explore this vibrating city through a walking tour that passes at the most important sights such as Black Church and Catherine’s Gates.

Day 6: Brasov – Bran – Peles – Bucharest

In the morning you will head for Bran castle aka Dracula’s castle in order to discover this medieval castle and the true story of Vlad Dracula. Tour the inside and at the end if you wish you can enjoy free time in the market in front of the castle.

Stop At: Peles Castle, Str. Pelesului 2, Sinaia 106100 Romania
Reach the Peles Palace set in the scenic mountain resort of Sinaia, also called the Pearl of the Carpathians. Tour the Romanian royal family’s former summer residence, which showcases a magnificent palace in the German Renaissance style. Built at the foot of the mountains between 1873 and 1914 by Carol I, the first Romanian king, the palace is considered one of the most beautiful of its kind in Europe.

In the afternoon reach Bucharest.
