Experience the Reykjanes Peninsula lava fields, geothermal steam and landscape
On this tour, you drive to some of the most exciting land formations at Reykjanes Peninsula with a local guide who has traveled, and studied the Peninsula for decades. This part of Iceland is a product of intense volcanic activity and is among its youngest parts. You will learn about fissures, craters, eruptions, lava, volcanos, the Blue Lagoon, how it was discovered, and how Iceland takes advantage of the geothermal power. The rift zone comes ashore here from its grave, long, and winding stretch through the Atlantic Ocean from Antarctica. It is the part of Iceland characterized and marked by volcanic and geothermal activity; a region that was more or less uninhabitable throughout the centuries from the time of settlement. This is a quality tour, combining history and geology. We will travel in a new modified Toyota Land Cruiser 4X4 vehicle fit for a secure drive on slippery roads in winter. Enjoy the stunning landscape in a relaxed manner with a highly knowledgeable local guide.
