Ride the mountains

A breathtaking 19 hours experience where you will head up the mountains on a snowmobile with your skis/snowboard. I addition you will get to camp on the mountain in the snow and we might even see the northern lights if we are lucky.

We guarantee you will never forget the true backcountry of Iceland.

Itinerary

Before traveling up to endless acres to explore breathtaking views, we meet up at Backcountry Snowmobiling's base camp that sits at sea level from town Ólafsfjörður to get geared up. From there we head up the mountains on snowmobiles and you can take your skis/snowboard with you. We guarantee you will never forget the true backcountry of Iceland.

After riding the slopes in breathtaking scenarios, we find a camping spot for the night, have dinner together and share stories. We might even see the Northern Lights if we are lucky. The morning after, we dedicate a few hours in hiking, skiing, and snowboarding (depending on your preference). Then we pack up our camp and go for another ride on our snowmobiles. Our tour then finishes where we started, in our Backcountry Snowmobiling's base camp.
