Sleep in the snow
Breathtaking views, remote areas, camping in the snow and if you are lucky the northern lights.
We guarantee you will never forget the true backcountry of Iceland.
Itinerary
We meet in the deserted fjord Héðinsfjörður, which is the northernmost fjord on the Troll Peninsula area. There are no street lights in Héðinsfjörður and it is very remote. In the parking area, we gear ourselves up and head up into the valleys at the bottom of the fjord. This area is full of endless acres with breathtaking views. We guarantee you will never forget the true backcountry of Iceland. After several hours of hiking, we find a camping spot for the night, have dinner together and share stories. We might even see the Northern Lights if we are lucky. The morning after, we dedicate a few hours in sliding in the snow, before packing up our camp and start descending. Our tour then finishes where we started.
