Itinerary

Day 1: ARRIVE LEH

Stop At: Shanti Stupa Road 500 steps from Changspa Road, Leh 194101 India
Arrival Leh Kushok Bakula Airport (This must be one of the Most Sensational Flights in the World. On a clear day from one side of the aircraft can be seen in the distance the peaks of K2, Nanga Parbat, Gasherbrum and on the other side of the aircraft, so close that you feel you could reach out and touch it, is the Nun Kun massif.) Upon arrival you will met by our representative and transfer to Hotel for Check in. Complete day for rest and leisure to acclimatize followed by Welcome tea or Coffee at the Hotel. Evening Visit to Shanti Stupa, Leh Palace & Leh Market (Leh Main Bazar). Overnight at hotel in Leh.

Day 2: LEH TO ALCHI (70 KMS / 2 HRS )

Stop At: Alchi Choskor Monastery, Alchi Road Alchi Village, Leh 194101 India
After early breakfast move towards Alchi village, en-route visit Hall of Fame which is an army managed memorabilia on the Indian army and its soldiers, Pather Sahib Gurudwara, Magnetic hill, Confluence of Indus and Zanskar rivers (Sangam Viewpoint) (good for photography) and reach Alchi. Alchi is also home to the oldest monastery of Ladakh. The monastery dates back to 11th century and you would find the architecture very interesting which is a mix of both Tibetan and Muslim architecture. Alchi is also known for its rare wall paintings which you would not find in any of the other monasteries across ladakh. Overnight at hotel in Leh.

Day 3: LEH–NUBRA VALLEY VIA KHARDUNG LA 18,390 Ft. (120 KMS / 4 – 5 HRS)

Stop At: Nubra Valley, 194101 India
Post breakfast we drive to Nubra Valley. The road journey from Leh to Nubra Valley passes over Khardung La (The Highest Motorable Road In The World) at 5,602 Mtrs / 18,390 Ft, around 39 km from Leh. From the pass, one can see all the way south over the Indus valley to seemingly endless peaks and ridges of the Zanskar range, and north to the giants of the Saser massif. Nubra Valley is popularly known as Ldumra or the valley of flowers. It is situated in the north of Ladakh between the Karakoram and Ladakh ranges of the Himalayas. The average altitude of the valley is 10,000 Ft. above sea level. Upon arrival in Nubra we check in at our Camp in Hunder relax and get refreshed. In the evening we drive to Hunder where you have opportunity to ride on a bacterian camel (double humped) amidst the sand dunes of this high altitude desert with snow-capped mountains on the horizon. Between Hunder and Diskit you come across sand dunes besides the road. It is indeed a strange sight since immediately on the left of the road are rocky mountains that characterize the Ladakhi landscape and in the distance can be seen snow-capped mountains. Overnight Stay at the Camp/Hotel in Nubra.

Day 4: NUBRA VALLEY TO PANGONG LAKE VIA SHAYOK VALLEY (155 KMS / 5-6 HRS)

Stop At: Pangong Tso, Ladakh, Jammu and Kashmir, India; Ladakh, , India;, Leh 194101 India
After an early breakfast visit Deskit Monastery (Big Buddha), where you can have a magnificent view of Nubra Valley. Later leave for Pangong Lake through the Shayok valley. Probably one of the most beautiful drive as you are driving alongside the mighty Shayok river. Chances are that you spot some wildlife in the area. Reach Pangong Lake, situated at 14,000 feet (4,267 m). The lake is bisected by the international border between India and China. The lake became a rage with Indian tourists after Amir shot the climax of his film 3 idiot and Ladakh became a destination overnight. On a sunny day the reflection of the sky makes the color of lake look turquoise blue in contrast with the earthy mountains to make pictures look unreal and surreal. Enjoy the landscape in the back drop of the Lake. One rarely feels so close to nature and environment and the scenery is unforgettable. Evening at leisure and overnight stay at the camp near lake.

Day 5: PANGONG LAKE TO LEH VIA LEH MONASTERIES (140 KMS / 6 HRS)

Morning at leisure to explore the beauty of lake and later we drive back to leh via Thiksey Monastery an impressive complex rising tier upon tier on a hill above the village. Overnight stay in Leh Hotel.
