Garden that reflects the history of Jodhpur, Mandore garden is home to architecturally wonderful domes and a musuem. There is also a temple dedicated to all the 33 crore Gods in Hindu mythology. Majestic architecture and widespread greenery make the place even better.

Built in 1159 by the Gurjara-Pratihara rulers, Balsamand lake is the biggest artificial lake in the region. Balsamand Lake has become a popular picnic spot among the locals.

Stop At: Ranisar Padamsar Lakes, Jodhpur India

Ranisar Padamsar Lakes are two of the many lakes is Jodhpur and is the most beautiful of all. This lake was built by Queen Jasmade Hadi in 1459 for natural water conservation. The lake offers majestic views of the serene water with the grand Mehrangarh Fort in the backdrop.

Built in 1459 by Rao Jodha, Mehrangarh for is one of the largest forts in India. The fort stands 500 feet tall on a cliff which makes it the tallest structure in the city. The majestic masterpiece is a landmark of Rajasthani architecture and has a museum which is home to the rich history of the fort.

Jaswant Thada is a majestic white marble structure that elegantly stands near Mehrangarh Fort. It was built by Maharaja Sardar Singh of Jodhpur State in 1899 in memory of his father, Maharaja Jaswant Singh II, and serves as the cremation ground for the royal family of Marwar.

Toor ji ka Jhalra is an ancient stepwell which is famous for its perfect geometrical architecture. Located near the clock tower, this stepwell was extensively used in ancient Rajasthan to reach to the water deep underground as the state is dry.

Clock Tower, locally called as Ghanta Ghar, is four-sided tower which has huge clocks on all the sides. In ancient times, it was used to help people in all the directions to keep track of time. The tower is situated in the middle of the Sardar market, an old market which is still visited by people for their needs.

The museum was constructed by Maharaja Umed Singh in the memory of his father Sardar Singh in 1909. The museum holds archeological, armory, art and craft from the history of Rajasthan.

One of the largest private residences in India, Umaid Bhawan Palace is the residence of Maharaja Gaj Singh, the current king of Jodhpur. The grand palace is made of “chitter” stone which is rare. The palace now holds a hotel and a museum which is open for public.
