Built in 1459 by Rao Jodha, Mehrangarh for is one of the largest forts in India. The fort stands 500 feet tall on a cliff which makes it the tallest structure in the city. The majestic masterpiece is a landmark of Rajasthani architecture and has a museum which is home to the rich history of the fort.

Stop At: Jaswant Thada, Near Mehrangarh Fort, Jodhpur India

Jaswant Thada is a majestic white marble structure that elegantly stands near Mehrangarh Fort. It was built by Maharaja Sardar Singh of Jodhpur State in 1899 in memory of his father, Maharaja Jaswant Singh II, and serves as the cremation ground for the royal family of Marwar.

One of the largest private residences in India, Umaid Bhawan Palace is the residence of Maharaja Gaj Singh, the current king of Jodhpur. The grand palace is made of “chittar” stone which is rare. The palace now holds a hotel and a museum which is open for public.
