Day Trip at Adisarai Farms-

A day trip to one of nature's best kept secrets, through an abundance of coffee and avocado plants. Pristine waterfalls and pools set within an entirely organic eco-system set within the rainforests of the Palani Hills.

Once you book your Day Trip to Adisarai Farms, and we have confirmed a date, time, and pick up place - the journey begins! We will send a jeep and a driver to pick you up on the day of the trip, and subsequently, you'll be brought to our home in Attuvampatti. Here, we'll get to know each other for a few minutes over our organic fresh roasted coffee and breath taking views of the valley. The trip from town to our home is about 12 - 15 minutes. Post coffee, we'll get back in the jeep and our lovely driver will take us further towards Pallangi for a short 10 minute drive to the beginings of Adisarai Farm. On the way, we'll cross bustling, old villages that have remain relatively unchanged over the years, such as Mattupatti. If you come during season time - make sure to keep an eye out for the tons of plums and peaches being unloaded and loaded by the surrounding farms! Once we get to Adisarai's gateway, we'll hop off the jeep and go off-road into our adventure. Adisrai is deeply rooted within the rainforests of the Palani hills, so within a few minutes - you'll find yourselves in the midst of an untouched jungle - vast in flora and fauna, with rivers and waterfalls running through it, and the sounds of a bountiful ecosystem flooding the senses. The temperature within this valley is a few degrees warmer than the town of Kodaikanal, and the air - a slight but refreshing humidity as a consequent of the flourishing rainforest. The wall to the the rest-stop and first main waterfall will be through thousands of lush green coffee plants and avocado trees. You'll see jackfruit trees and wild-gooseberry (among countless other fruit), while the path below you is of rich earth covered in the most vibrant of leaves. If you're quiet, you can hear the monkeys chattering away to each other as they steal fruit and swing from branch to branch. And keep your eyes open for the famous flying squirrels, for they're the unsung wonders of the Palani Hills. Most wild life keeps away from the main path, as they have over a hundred acres to rule and exist in peace with the few humans that come here. Amongst these are deer, panthers and many different kinds of snakes. Don't worry, it's rare that we ever have a sighting of such magical creatures when we're with company! Once we get to the farm house after this 15 minute hike, we rest for a while - maybe drink out of the stream as all the water in the farm is unpolluted and crystal clear, straight from the waterfalls above. There's an Indian style bathroom to use. We only ask of you to keep it clean. Below the farm house, a few minutes away is the first water-fall and pool where you can dip your feet in or go for a swim. But I would recommend waiting until the second pool (my personal favorite). This one is larger and even has rocks you can jump off if you're the adventurous type. The water is rejuvenating to say the least, always cold due to the constant rush it is in. Take a minute here to take in your surroundings amidst deep breaths of the purest air you'll ever breathe. This is what nature looks like when left to grow into its beauty and abundance. You'll understand why it is sacred.

There is also a big cave nearby, which we believe may have been used by tribes of the past - covered in fine green moss and a feeling of history. We will visit this too.

We would have touched but a percentage of the entire farm - exploring further is up to you, we'll take you as far as you want to go. There's no end to life at Adisarai - it's an evergreen and eternal hideaway which has remained pristine and unpolluted for the four generations that it has been in the family. And as the world around us rushes towards more development, Adisarai will remain the same. A place of refuge for all those who need it. Abundant in fruit, vegetables, clean water and clear air.

Once you feel like you've had a good trip to the farm (and eaten your sandwiches which you can ask us to prep in advance), we'll get our things together, pick up any litter we see, and douse any fire we've set - and make our way back up. To the first waterfall, then the farmhouse, and then back up the way we came from. Remember that we descended into the farm, so the hike back will be slightly inclined. We'll go slow as we let ourselves feel the after-effects of being in such powerful, pristine nature. Once we get to the road, we'll get back in the jeep and come back home for more coffee/snacks. I hope you like to talk because we do, so be prepared for lots of conversation and connection when you come through! You can buy some of our organic farm produce at the house if you'd like souvenirs. From fresh roasted Arabica to marmalade made from the beautiful and tart Seville oranges, we have a variety of healthy, organic alternatives to everyday indulgences.

And once we finish our evening conversation, recovery and snacks - our very patient driver will take you and your memories back to town to wherever you'd like to be dropped. We hope you'll leave loving the farm as much as we do, and having cultivated beautiful friendships.
