Day 1: Delhi to 4-Hrs drive to Jaipur (L)

Get an early start with 6am pickup from your Delhi accommodation and a 4-hour drive to Jaipur.
Travel in a comfortable air-conditioned vehicle with your private driver, then meet your private guide in Jaipur at your first stop, the Amber Fort. Ride up the hill by jeep to reach the hilltop fortress and palace, which is situated in the Aravali Hills just seven miles (11km) north of Jaipur. The architectural masterpiece overlooks Maota Lake, and is sumptuously decorated with features such as mosaics, tile work, and mirror-studded alcoves. Your guide takes you to Jai Mandir Temple and Sheesh Mahal the hall of mirrors.
After two hours at the Amber Fort, stop at Jal Mahal for photos, then head to a local restaurant for lunch at 1pm.
Your next destination is the heart of the old city where you visit the City Palace, which combines both Rajasthani and Mughal styles. Then continue to Hawa Mahal, a masterpiece made from Jaipur's pink sandstone.
Around 4pm, go shopping for goods such as rugs, clothing, gemstones, and blue pottery.

Your 4-hour journey to Agra begins after a 6am pickup from your hotel, airport or accommodations Jaipur.
Reach Agra at 10am and we visit the Taj Mahal, another UNESCO World Heritage Site. No trip to Agra would be complete without a visit to this shimmering display of domes and minarets. The world's best-known tomb stands testimony to the timeless love story of the 17th century Mughal Emperor, Shah Jahan and his wife, Queen Mumtaz Mahal. (Note: the Taj Mahal is closed on Fridays)
Visit yet another UNESCO World Heritage Site, the imposing Agra Fort, built by Emperor Akbar in 1565 A.D. This huge fort is made of red sandstone, and its interior reflects an interesting synthesis of Hindu and Central Asian architectural styles.

Enjoy some shopping in Agra, known for its fabulous handicrafts made of marble and soft-stone inlay work. The Mughals were great patrons of arts and crafts. Empress Nur Jahan took personal interest and was an accomplished artist herself in zari embroidery work. Agra's major handicraft products also include leatherware, brassware, carpets, jewellery and embroidery work.
