Built-in 1876 as a concert hall, now is a fully-fledged museum with the collection of many paintings, crystals, stone, sculptures, ivory, carpets, and jewelry. It is the oldest museum of the city also called the Government Central Museum; it gets its name from the Victoria and Albert Museum of London, because of the similarity of the Indo-Saracenic architecture.

Next to the museum is the Jaipur zoo which was built in 1877. Constituted under the Wild Life Protection Act, the zoo is divided into 2 parts one for mammals and the other for birds and reptiles. Built by Raja Bharmal on the orders of Emperor Akbar in 1569, the Jama Masjid in Jaipur has the same structure as the other Jama mosques in the country. It has a rectangular prayer room on the west with a beautiful façade of seven arches and courtyard in the front with three small entrances from different directions. The 5 storied stunning semi-octagonal monument having 152 windows with overhanging latticed balconies is a fine piece of Rajput architecture
