Thattekkad Bird Sanctuary, also known as the Dr Salim Ali Bird Sanctuary is one of the richest bird habitats in peninsular India, comparable only with the Eastern Himalayas. The Trekking and Camping tour at Suryanelli is a trip through the highest regions of the Western Ghats. The Suryanelli Treks are such a trek through forest and tea plantations of the Western Ghats.
