This itinerary is a great combination of the Nature at Kerala and the Culture at Tamilnadu.Many interesting Responsible Tourism activities are included in addition to a visit to Meenakshi Temple Madurai.A short visit to Athirappally waterfall is an additional highlight.This itinerary can further be customised to extensions.This can be a great combination for women travellers and family groups.

Itinerary

Day 1: Cochin Arrival

Stop At: Kerala Kathakali Centre, near Santa Cruz Basilica K.B. Jacob Road, Fort Kochi, Kochi (Cochin) 682001 India
On arrival at Cochin Airport , you will be received & transferred to your hotel in Fort Kochi.(Normal check in time is 1 PM.)Take rest for sometime.Evening watch a live Kathakali performance at a traditional theatre.Overnight at Hotel.

Day 2: Cochin Sightseeing

Stop At: Fort Kochi, Fort Kochi, Kochi (Cochin), Ernakulam District, Kerala
Morning, after a leisurely breakfast, you will do a guided tour of Cochin to cover the Colonial remnants and Historical sites.Afternoon you will be driven to the Main city to have a feel of the life.You may opt to do shopping at a textile shop or a luxury Mall for brands.By evening arrive at Pepper Trails Kitchen where the host family will receive you with a special home made welcome drink.Later you will start your cookery session by preparing 3-4 Kerala dishes followed by dinner with the family.Overnight at Hotel.

Day 3: Athirappally-Munnar

Stop At: Athirappilly Waterfalls, Sholayar Forest Ranges, Thrissur India
Morning, after breakfast, proceed to Munnar, known as nature lover’s paradise . Enroute visit Athirappally Waterfalls.You will drive through Midland crops like Rubber,arecnut,pineapple etc.On arrival in Munnar during evening,check into your hotel. Overnight at the Hotel.

Day 4: Munnar Active Day-Marayoor

Stop At: Marayoor Sandalwood Forest, Marayur 685620 India
Full day guided tour of Munnar to enjoy the Nature around.(8 AM till 5 PM)After an early breakfast,by 8 AM you will be taken to Marayoor Village for guided walks through the nice lively village,Sandalwood forest,tribal areas etc.You will watch sugarcane making units,farm lands ,walk to the Mount of the Dead, a world famous Megalithic site with dolmens, dolmenoid and dolmenoid cists. etc.Lunch from the village.Afternoon our Naturalist guide will take you for a nice Nature walk through the tea plantation followed by a visit to the Tea factory to see the tea processing. Return to Munnar for overnight stay.

Day 5: Madurai

After breakfast,drive to Madurai, an ancient city, more than 2,500 years old, known as the Athens of the east for overnight stay.Afternoon for sightseeing of Madurai with an evening visit to Meenakshi Temple to watch closing ceremony.Overnight at Madurai.

Palace Visit

Day 6: Periyar

Stop At: Periyar National Park, Banks Of Artificial Periyar Lake, Thekkady India
After breakfast,at 8.30 AM ,drive to Periyar Sanctuary.Enroute stop at Harvest Organic Farm for a guided walk.From the main road ,you will be welcomed to drive through the village road to the farm.You will also be given a bullock cart ride experience enroute to the farm.A Garden farm lunch will be served .Later guided walk through the farm.By early evening continue your travel to your hotel in Periyar. Evening visit a Spice Farm.Overnight at Hotel.

Day 7: Periyar Wildlife

Stop At: Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary, Kumily, Thekkady India
Full day trekking in the Sanctuary.It will be a guided program by the forest Department and there are chances of closure of the Sanctuary between April & June due to the fear of wild fire etc.At 0730 AM we have to report at the bus boarding point .Once you reach the starting point ,you will finish the registration formalities and collect leech socks, packed light breakfast & a proper hot lunch etc.The program has around 12 kms of soft hike and 3 kms of bamboo rafting. This will be a nice program to watch possible wildlife in the sanctuary.Only physically fit travelers can do this full activity.Children below 12 years are not allowed to do the program.Evening return to the base to return to your hotel.Overnight at hotel.

Day 8: Kumarakom

Day 9: Kumarakom Village Tour
