Itinerary
Day 1: Arrive Leh (By Air) Elevation 3,505m/11,500ft. Transfer to Hotel. Rest for the day to acclimatise.
Stop At: Leh Market, Lingtse, Gonpa Complex, Main Bazaar Rd, Leh, Jammu and Kashmir 194101
Take a walk around Leh market & palace to help acclimatise to the altitude

Day 2: Touring around Leh to get used to our bikes & get ready for the adventure
Stop At: Thiksey Monastery, Leh Manali Highway, Leh 194101 India

We start our explorations with the Shey palace, then onto the Thiksey monastery, an impressive complex rising tier upon tier on a hill above the village. It has a beautiful 30 m high gold-plated statue of Maitreya Buddha. From Thiksey, we head to the Hemis Gompa, the biggest monastery in Ladakh. Located 45 Km to the south of Leh. Hemis Gompa was built in 1630 and houses monks of the
Brokpa or Red Hat sect.

Day 3: Let to Turtuk a ride over Khardung-La, one of the worlds highest motorable passes

LEH KHARDUNG-LA HUNDER - TURTUK (Distance: 37km / 90km / 90km 217km; Travel Time: 7-8hrs; Elevation: Khardung La 5,602m/18,380ft)
Driving from Leh, we cross the Khardung La (18, 380 ft), known as one of the worlds highest motorable passes, into the Nubra Valley towards Hunder. The Nubra Valley, on the Nubra and Shyok rivers, is a mix of desert sand dunes and interspersed lush green villages. Making their way through the middle of all this are herds of Yak, double-humped Bactrian Camels and the occasional small whirlwind of dust. The valley is one of those rare places on earth where you can see in one place the splendid beauty of a desert complete with bactrian camels, sand dunes, rolling mountains, flowing streams and snow peaks. giving it a surreal, dreamlike quality.

Day 4: A day out in Turtuk, a brief history & swim in the mountain waters
Stop At: Turtuk Waterfall, Above Monastery Approx 1 hrs of steep climb from Turtuk Village, Turtuk India
A highlight on this trip is the remote village of Turtuk. Once a part of Baltistan, is now open to travellers. Well visit an ancient fort and a monastery here as well as springs with healing properties & pearls to be picked up in the mountains. The area boasts rare wildlife: marmots, ibex and the elusive snow leopard. Spend the day exploring the area, swimming in the mountain lakes and stay at the Turtuk Holiday Camp, a brand new property surrounded by Apricot orchards

Day 5: Riding Turtuk to Hunder to see the

Heading back we stop at Hunder for overnight stay. In the evening we visit Diskit Gompa dating back to the 14th century on the silk route & take a ride on the twin hump camel if you dare

Day 6: Ride from Hunder to Pamgong Tso via the Shyok river crossing. Elevation: Pangong Tso4,250m/13,943ft)

We take a less explored back-road from the Nubra Valley, a scenic route along the Shyok River into the Changthang region of Ladakh. Broken roads and dirt tracks, small patches of flowing glacial streams to ride through, making this one of the most adventurous of our days on the road as we head up to Pangong Tso a high altitude lake in the Ladakh Himalayas. The lake is 134 km long and extends from India to Tibet. Two thirds of the length of this lake lies in Tibet. The lake is 5 km (3 miles) wide at its broadest point

Day 7: Back from the shores of Panging Tso via Chang La pass (17000 ft). Return to Leh

After spending the morning at the shores of the beautiful Pangong, we drive back to Leh via the heady Chang La Pass, to arrive by lunch. The rest of the day at leisure to explore Leh

Day 8: River rafting - Take on the highest raftable river
Stop At: Confluence of the Indus and Zanskar Rivers, Leh India
Today we'll take our saddle sore bones & take to the rafts to test our remaining strength on the rapids of the worlds highest rafting river.

Day 9: Transfer to the airport to catch the early morning flight back to New Delhi or Onward Destination
