Private Day Trip to Haridwar and Rishikesh from Delhi by Car
Two sacred Hindu cities, Haridwar and Rishikesh, lie in the Himalayan foothills north of Delhi, but are near-impossible to visit in a day by public transport. This private full-day tour takes you to both: covering their 'ashrams' (retreats), temples, and 'ghats' (bathing steps) on the River Ganges. Experience pilgrim-filled Haridwar, including its floating lights ceremony, and the yoga city of Rishikesh, home to an ashram where The Beatles stayed.

The aarti is the sight to behold; You will be on the other side of the banks and could see the priests light up the lamps. Slowly, they started moving the lamps in the clockwise direction, in a rhythmic way. The reflection of lamps was visible on the Ganges. It seemed the river was acknowledging the prayers offered to her by taking away all the flowers and ghee lamps offered to her on small donas. The mighty Ganga had a strong current which was indicative of its purpose in lifeloving unconditionally all those who come to its banks.
