Sanjay Van Forest Walk

Sanjay Van is part of the oldest mountain ridge in the world - the Aravalis. Once you enter the gates of this forest, you forget that you are really in the middle of a city.

The city forest has a rich variety of birds - including water birds in it's numerous water bodies. Indigenous as well as invasive foreign trees live here and it's interesting to see how differently the wildlife treat both species.

Another unique part of this forest is the ramparts of an 8th century fort - Lal Kot. This was the bastion of the Rajput kings, who ruled over Delhi till the 12th century.

Walkers will observe trees, birds, butterflies of the forest. They will visit two water bodies and understand their flora and fauna. We will climb an 8th century wall and learn about it's historic significance.
