Sunda Kelapa Harbor is one of the most favorite destinations of Jakarta Sightseeing Tour. It has been established since the 15th Century by the Kingdom of Ancient Pajajaran. So its age is around 500 years old now. Previously, it was a symbol of greatness where inter-state trading occurs. Currently, the harbor functioned as a fish market. And it is known as the largest fish market in Jakarta. Early in the morning, it also functioned as a fish auction center. Nowadays, the harbor is still a busy port as a center of cargo transportation. There are many wooden boats crowding in the harbor. Near to the worship houses, we may see Monas (Monumen Nasional) or the National Monument. We suggest you not to visit it on the weekend or holidays. Because it usually crowds with many visitors during weekend/holidays. And the long queue shall abort your desire to visit the peak of the tower. The height of the monument is 137 meter. At the top, there is a gold-coated flame. Historically, it was built by our Founding Father, Soekarno. It is as a symbol of freedom and independence. The National Museum located on the ground. In the museum, you can find old maps, antiques, Chinese porcelain, and even an underwater prison.
