Meet Local Batik PaintersSugar MakerBasket Weavers and Musician

Inspired Village Adventures provide conscious travelers with an invaluable opportunity to venture far beyond the beaten paths of Bali, to discover the local rural village life, and to be inspired by the beauty and creativity of Balinese culture. These adventures also support and incentivize local communities to keep and maintain their ancestral lands and sustainable way of living.

We will learn about sustainable agriculture and rural Innovation by traveling to the homes of farmers, fishermen,and villagers in remote parts of West Bali to meet with farmers and learn how they care for their crops. Through this experience, we hope to be more connected with rural communities of Bali, the agrarian way of life in Bali, and our relationship between our physical and spiritual selves and Mother Nature.

Itinerary

Hand Painted Batik
Batiks are quite common throughout Indonesia. We will visit a family that makes hand-painted batik. We will learn the process of preparing prints and coloring fabrics.

Balinese Coconut Basket "Ingke"
Ingke are traditional hand-woven plates made from sticks of coconut. We will meet the community of local artisans and watch and learn how they make them.

Traditional Coconut Sugar Production
Pak Pung is a coconut sugar maker. Everyday, he makes 15 kg of sugar using coconuts from 43 trees situated on his land. We will have the opportunity to observe and learn about how he produces coconut sugar and distributes his product to local buyers. We will also chat with him about small business management and day-to-day village life.

Music & Dance Studio Dwi Laksana Murti
Mr. Lindih is the owner of a dance studio, he works with his friends to teach the children in the village to get to know the art of Balinese dance and music, he wants to do something useful for the crowd to fill his spare time in his old age.
