For over 30 years a conflict dominated international news and it affected all aspects of life for the people of Northern Ireland.

Visit the medieval town of Carlingford with its impressive Norman castle, nestled at the base of the Cooley Mountains with stunning views across the bay of the Mountains of Mournes

On this tour we examine some of the the events that took place and the difference between the conflict in the city of Belfast and the rural areas like South Armagh, known by the media as ‘Bandit Country’,

In Belfast ex political prisoners from both communities will guide us through the areas they grew up in and were intimately involved in the troubles and spent time in jail for their beliefs. We invite you to hear first-hand accounts of this turbulent period of modern history and hear the Stories behind the artwork and and how the troubles effected the guides own families.

Stop At: Peace Wall, 15 Cupar Way, Belfast BT13 2RX Northern Ireland

Take the opportunity to sign the Peace Wall that divides the communities of The Shankill and Falls Roads in West Belfast and leave your thoughts of hope and reconciliation along side the Dalai Lama

Duration: 15 minutes

Stop At: King John's Castle, Carlingford Ireland

Stopping in the medieval village of Carlingford at the foot of the Cooley Mountains and stunning views across the lough to the Mountains of Mourne for a 30 minute rest break

Travelling through the rolling hills and rural villages of South Armagh we will explore the difference between Rural and Urban conflict in the recent troubles

Stop At: City Hall Donegall Square, Belfast BT1 5GS Northern Ireland

We have a lunch break in Belfast with enough time to discover a little of the city maybe even take in one of the free tours at the city hall or a quick visit to Gerorge;s Market, the Titanic Quarter or the Game of Throne exhibition,

The highlight of the trip with a walking tour along the Falls and Shankill roads in West Belfast, the area where the highest number of deaths occurred during the conflict. Walk with ex-prisoners from both Loyalist and republican communities and hear the personal stories from ex-combatants who risked their freedom to stand up for their beliefs.
