Without a doubt, the most exciting time of year for deer watching is early to mid-October when the red deer start their courting actions, during the short period of time known as the ‘rut’. Hormonally charged males put on an impressive show as they fight to build their harem of females, and if you're lucky you might see two red stags locked in an antler to antler battle! But if you are deer watching at this special time of year, you will almost certainly hear them barking or clashing antlers amongst the trees. A pair of binoculars is a must and will be supplied.

Exact details, times and directions to the start point will be provided after booking.

Please arrive at the meeting point provided after booking at dawn, approx. 6am (times will vary throughout the year). After this meet your local guide and climb into the 4x4 vehicle supplied at the departure point.

Then, start the wild deer viewing safari and drive through this privately owned wilderness area of scenic mountains, bogs, heaths, grasslands and woodlands and begin tracking of deer. Learn from your professional guide about the unique fauna and flora as well as the history and ecology of the area. You will also be served complimentary hot drinks and biscuits during the tour.

You will return back to the vehicle to finish the tour at approx. 9am.
