Jerusalem's Gates and Valleys by foot

Walk upon the city Ramparts for fabulous views, visiting the gates of old Jerusalem. Learn their names and where they came from. How built the walls of the city and the gates. Walk through the Kidron Valley to visit the tombs of Absalom, Zecharia and Bnei Hazir in what is Jerusalem's most ancient Jewish cemetery. This 7 hour tour includes walking up and down steps, commences at Jaffa Gate and ends at Dung Gate. Great for photography buffs and those who love a good ancient urban walk on cobble stones.

Meet at Jaffa Gate and climb to the top of the David's Tower to view Hezekiah's Pool and the Temple Mount. Continue to the Ramparts of the city where you will walk along the walls viewing the Arab neighborhood to the north of the city, which was once inside the city walls. Visit Damascus Gate, built by Hadrian and alight at Lion's Gate. From here walk down to the Kidron Valley also known as the Valley of Judgement and hear how the resurrected will be judged on their way to the rebuilt temple when the Messiah comes. Continue around the southern side of the walled city and up to Mt. Zion and Zion Gate where an important battle was fought which ultimately lead to the falling of the Jerusalem's Old City into the hands of the Jordanian Legion. Walk through the Jewish Quarter to view the Hurva Synagogue with it's unique story, the broad wall, Roman Cardo and then down to the Western Wall. Hear an explanation of who built this wall and what it's purpose was.

This tour is not suitable for people with mobility issues, young children or those afraid of heights.  Entrance fees and meals are not included and are at the expense of the tourist.
