Second visit: Ortigia. The visit starts from the Ortigia market, a true symbol of Syracusan commercial activities. Continue on to Piazza Archimede, a square representing the historic center of Syracuse with the majestic Diana fountain, created by the sculptor from Ascoli, Moschetti. continue to Piazza Duomo where the Cathedral stands, ending with the Fonte Aretusa. Stop At: Parco Archeologico della Neapolis, Via Paradiso 14, 96100, Syracuse, Sicily Italy

First Visit
Archaeological Park of Neapolis, includes the most important Greek and Roman monuments of the city and among which the Greek Theater of Syracuse, one of the largest in the world and best preserved. We first meet the Latomia del Paradiso, an ancient stone quarry that provided the building material of the ancient city. On the left the Altar of Hieron II, the largest sacrificial altar in the Greek world dedicated to Zeus Eleutherios, on which the hecatomb was sacrificed. Continuing we can admire the Ear of Dionysus, a cavity similar to the shape of an ear, within which the sounds are amplified. This inspired the current name of Caravaggio. Towards the exit is the elliptical Roman Amphitheater, built in the early imperial age for the development of neumachies and for circus games.

Second visit
The visit starts from the Ortigia market, a true symbol of Syracusan commercial activities with a characteristic folkloristic appearance in which all the local products and the classic blue fish are displayed. Continue on to Piazza Archimede, a square representing the historic center of Syracuse with the majestic Diana fountain, created by the sculptor from Ascoli, Moschetti. continue to Piazza Duomo where the Cathedral stands, born as a Greek temple dedicated to Athena, to undergo transformations over the centuries until today and appear in its rich Baroque appearance. Inside it still presents the original Doric style columns, as well as numerous artistic works such as the San Zosimo, a table attributed to Antonello da Messina. Continuing the path we will reach the Fonte Aretusa, which takes its name from the nymph who, according to mythology, pursued by the god Alfeo arrived in Ortigia protected by the goddess Artemis. The plant of Cyperus Papirus grows in it.

The Regional Gallery of Palazzo Bellomo, a museum of medieval and modern art, housed in a building of three different ages with three architectural orders such as: Frederick II, Catalan and modern. The Museum is devoted guardian of one of the most valuable works of Antonello da Messina: the Annunciation, originally oil on panel today on canvas from 1474 and numerous paintings, sculptures and ceramics.
