The "Via Leucadensis" is the ancient "road of Forgiveness" that, since the Middle Ages, pilgrims from everywhere, used to travel along the Salento peninsula to reach the Sanctuary of S. Maria De Finibus Terrae, in Leuca.

Remaining faithful to the historical sources available, the two ancient routes of this complex path have been rebuilt: that of East (Levante) from Tricase (Lecce) to Santa Maria di Leuca (Lecce) and that of West (Ponente) from Presicce to Leuca.

Both routes will lead you mostly along rural and secondary roads, accessible by bicycle, to discover our amazing environmental, historical and architectural heritage, inserted in an astonishing landscape.

The routes will touch the territory of the municipalities within the Union of Municipalities Thalassa (Tricase and Castrignano Capo) and Terra di Leuca (Alessano, Corsano, Gagliano del Capo, Morciano, Patù, Salve, Tiggiano) and the City of Presicce.

Among the partnership also is the Diocesi of Ugento - Santa Maria di Leuca, the Institute Father Trinitarians of Gagliano del Capo, the Turismo Verde Association (farm holidays) and the CIA (Italian Farmers Confederation), The University of Salento and the farms that will ensure the best tasting gourmet products.

Everyone will be given a specific road map on which a stamp of completion of the course will be applied.
