Itinerary

Day 1: Pompeii - Lunch at Vineyard with Wine Tasting - Agerola

Stop At: Pompeii Archaeological Park, Via Villa dei Misteri, 2, 80045 Pompei NA, Italy
Welcome! We meet at 9:00 am to begin our full-day journey with a morning drive to the world-renowned archaeological site of Pompeii. We meet our expert Pompeii guide for guided tours of this well-preserved Roman town destroyed by nearby Mount Vesuvius.

After the tour, a short drive to a vineyard on the slopes of Mount Vesuvius. Here the ancient Romans grew grapes for the Lacryma Christi (Tears of Christ) wine which is still being produced today. We will have a vineyard tour and then enjoy a wine tasting with lunch.

After lunch, we head to Agerola where we will spend the next two nights.

We meet for a group dinner and get acquainted with our fellow travelers.

Day 2: Agerola - Positano - Amalfi - Agerola

Stop At: Amalfi Coast, Amalfi Coast, Province of Salerno, Campania
After breakfast, we have a scenic drive on the Amalfi Coast to reach the breathtaking "vertical town" of Positano. Free time to explore Positano's narrow streets, take in the views, or shop for local souvenirs.

We will drive to a hilltop village.

After lunch, we take a local bus to Amalfi and enjoy a short walking tour of the town. We visit the Museum of paper and paper, we have an opportunity to make our own paper! There will be free time to visit the Cathedral, a local pastry sample, or enjoy an aperitif by the sea.

Transfer back to Agerola and a free night at leisure.

Day 3: Agerola - Ravello - Paestum

Stop At: Amalfi Coast, 84011 Italy
After breakfast, we leave Agerola and the village of Ravello with a visit to the stunning Villa Cimbrone: a perfect spot to admire the Amalfi coast from the terraced gardens. Following our visit, we will have a stroll in the square and enjoy a light lunch at a cafe.

We then drive along the Amalfi Coast to our accommodation in Paestum. Amalfi Coast, we stop for a short visit to a family-run ceramics studio and shop to view a demonstration.

We enjoy an included gourmet dinner at the hotel.

Day 4: Paestum - Cheese Tasting - Cava de 'Tirreni

Stop At: Archaeological Park of Paestum, 84047 Paestum, Capaccio-Paestum Italy
After breakfast, we visit the UNESCO World Heritage site of Paestum with an expert guide to explore well-preserved Greek temples and visit the Archaeological Museum adjacent to the site.

Lunch will be at a “caseificio”, a buffalo farm mozzarella, where you can enjoy a tasting of mozzarella, ricotta and other fresh cheese from the Campania region.

Transfer to our accommodation in Cava de 'Tirreni where we will stay for the next three nights.

Dinner at a rustic restaurant in the historical center.

Day 5: Cava de 'Tirreni - Free Day

Free day to relax or to choose one of our optional tours. Your tour guide will discuss your options which will include:

Day trip to the island of Capri where you can take a chairlift up Monte Solaro to enjoy the views, visit Villa San Michele, Charterhouse of San Giacomo, or the Gardens of Augustus. Discover the cafes, restaurants, and shops of Piazza Umberto I.

Explore the second largest Roman amphitheater in Italy with a visit to the Gladiator Museum. Gladiators, including Spartacus. Complete tour with a fascinating visit to the Mithraeum of Capua.

Guided tour of the most breathtaking panoramic views in the world.

Visit an 11th-century Benedictine Abbey and discover the historical center of Cava de 'Tirreni for shopping or pastries.

Day 6: Cava de 'Tirreni - Caserta - Cava de' Tirreni

In the morning, we have a one-hour drive to the stunning Royal Palace of Caserta, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and formerly one of the world's largest royal residences. We will have guided tours of the surrounding park with fountains.

After our tour, we walk to a local restaurant for lunch.

After lunch, we will return to the hotel and explore Cava de 'Tirreni at night.

Day 7: Cava de 'Tirreni - Cooking Class - Naples

Today we check out of our hotel, or "grandma" as we say in Italy.

We prepare lunch with fresh ingredients. We then feast on fruits of labor in an included lunch. And of course, no Italian meal is complete without a couple of good bottles of wine. Recipes are provided afterward, you can recreate the same dishes back at home, too.

Late afternoon drive to Naples and a group dinner at a pizzeria.

Day 8: Naples - Walking Tour - Street Food Tour - Historical Center

Stop At: Naples, Naples, Province of Naples, Campania
After breakfast, we begin our full-day walking tour of Naples and visiting key sites in the city: Duomo, Sansevero Chapel, Santa Chiara Cloister, San Lorenzo Church (and its underground Roman market), and the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Spaccanapoli.

Naples is a veritable feast for the senses and we will take full advantage of the tantalizing array of Neapolitan street food and pastries for lunch.

Farewell group dinner at a restaurant where we enjoy a delicious meal and raise one last to our Amal Coast Coast adventure.
