We will immerse ourselves in the visit of an extraordinary site to retrace the history of the basilica complex of Cimitile, one of the most important examples of early Christian art in Europe.

Spread over about 9000 square meters, it includes seven main buildings of worship erected starting from the fourth century and decorated with mosaics and frescoes. The place, originally intended for the veneration of the tomb of San Felice and Paolino, after the death of the latter became a destination for pilgrimages developing above a pagan necropolis, of which we will visit the remains.

Then we will taste the best typical dishes of this area of Campania with flavors full of tradition and devotion.

Our journey will take us to visit the ancient Christian basilicas of San Tommaso, of the SS. Martyrs, of San Felice, of San Giovanni, Santo Stefano and the Antiquarium as well as the environments known as Carcere and Fornace di San Gennaro. The history of Cimitile is intertwined with that of nearby Nola, a town whose ancient history we will trace in the afternoon walk visiting the Cathedral and the primitive basilicas
