Milan Cathedral is the cathedral church of Milan. Dedicated to the Nativity of St Mary, it is the seat of the Archbishop of Milan. The cathedral took nearly six centuries to complete.

Piazza Mercanti is a central city square of Milan. It is located between Piazza del Duomo It used to be the heart of the city in the Middle Ages. At the time, the square was larger than it is now, was known as "Piazza del Broletto", after the "Broletto Nuovo", the palace that occupied the centre of the square.

Sforza Castle was built in the 15th century by Francesco Sforza, Duke of Milan, on the remnants of a 14th-century fortification. Later renovated and enlarged, in the 16th and 17th centuries it was one of the largest citadels in Europe. Extensively rebuilt by Luca Beltrami in 1891–1905, it now houses several of the city's museums and art collections.

Bosco Verticale (Vertical Forest) is a pair of residential towers in the Porta Nuova district of Milan, near Milano Porta Garibaldi railway station. They have a height of 111 metres (364 ft) and 76 metres (249 ft) and contain more than 900 trees (approximately 550 and 350 in the first and second towers, respectively) on 8,900 square metres (96,000 sq ft) of terraces.

The towers were designed by Boeri Studio. It also involved input from horticulturalists and botanists.[

The UniCredit Tower is a skyscraper in Milan. At 231 metres (758 ft), it is the tallest building in Italy. The building was designed by architect César Pelli and reached its full height on 15 October 2011 when the spire was attached. The building is the headquarters of UniCredit, Italy's largest bank by assets, and is part of a larger development of new residential and business structures in Milan's Porta Nuova district, near Porta Garibaldi railway station. The tower ranked eighth in the Emporis 2012, that rewards skyscrapers for excellence in their aesthetic and functional design.

Allianz Tower is a fifty-floor, 209-metre-tall (686 ft) skyscraper in Milan. In 2016, Il Dritto was nominated by Emporis as the third-best skyscraper that was completed in 2015.

Il Dritto (The Straight One in English) or Allianz Tower is one of the tallest buildings in Italy at 209 m (686 ft)—249 m (817 ft) with broadcast antenna—and with its 50 floors is the tallest to the roof. It was designed by the Japanese architect Arata Isozaki and Italian architect Andrea Maffei.

Generali Tower (Lo Storto (The Twisted One in English) is a skyscraper completed in 2017 in Milan, that reaches a height of 191.5 m (628 ft) with 44 floors (+ 3 floors basement), and a total floor area of about 67,000 square metres (720,000 sq ft). Its designer is the Anglo-Iraqi architect Zaha Hadid. The geometry of the building is that of a warping shape, where both the floors dimension and their orientation vary along the tower axis.

The Basilica of Sant'Ambrogio is a church in Milan. One of the most ancient churches in Milan, it was built by St. Ambrose in 379–386, in an area where numerous martyrs of the Roman persecutions had been buried. The first name of the church was in fact Basilica Martyrum.
